Blix Bike Review Summary and Verdict
Blix Bike

Blix Bike manufactures next-generation electric bikes with hip, cool designs that perfectly match performance, utility, and aesthetics. Blix bike is for anyone who loves biking but likes that extra kick to climb steep hills or race home faster, all while looking cool. The quality and sturdiness of all Blix Bike models are excellent, and so are ride quality and comfort. They are all, except for the Vika+ Flex, on the heavier side, but that’s the cost of a high-quality build and an electric powertrain to help you get over those steep climbs. Overall, we find that Blix Bike offers excellent quality, durable and comfortable bikes at a very reasonable and competitive price point.
Pros
Beautiful and cool designs
Low, competitive prices
Sturdy build and excellent quality
Easy and quick assembly
Impressive power and speed
Four perfectly designed options
Cons
The battery range on some models could be better
Some are on the heavier side but not more than competing models
Blix Bike History
Blix Bike was founded in 2014 in Santa Cruz, California, by bike enthusiasts who wanted to create better electric bikes. Blix Bike is a direct-to-consumer brand, meaning they cut out the middle-men to cut down costs and lower their prices. Since their inception in 2014, they have continuously strived to improve their already excellent bike program and have recently revamped their models.
You can expect bikes made from a company dedicated to e-bikes and obsessed about creating the best electrified bikes on the market. In addition, they design some of the most attractive and cool electric bikes we’ve seen, seamlessly integrating battery and electric motor into stylish bikes that look great around town, the beach, or even on the commuter train.

They have only four models in the lineup, but each caters to specific use and sub-segment. That’s a good thing. Instead of spending their time making various similar versions, they double-down on the few models they have, perfecting them to the purpose they’re tailored to. As you read throughout our Blix Bike review, they have been successful in their mission to bring some of the best electric bikes to the market at affordable and very competitive prices too.
Blix Bike Quality
As mentioned above, Blix Bike is dedicated to producing high-quality e-bikes that will stand everyday use and whatever you’ll through at them. Of course, all bikes need servicing, just like cars. Luckily, electric bikes are far less complicated, and whatever you cannot fix yourself, you can get done at a fraction of the cost even a routine car service would cost.
Blix Bike is still a relatively young company, and building the perfect electric bike is not an easy feat. Particularly in the earlier years, a few complaints about parts not working were reported. But their customer service has been quick and efficient to help the unlucky few. Today, the quality of their bikes is excellent, and in our Blix Bike review, we have found no faults with their bikes. Should you be unfortunate to run into issues, their customer support is still excellent and responsive.
Blix uses superior components throughout, such as Shimano gear shifters, super effective and safe disc brakes, puncture-resistant Kevlar tires, etc. The casting and welding are also appropriately done with attention to detail, and the frame, though somewhat heavy, is also rugged.

In our review of Blix Bike, we conclude that the build quality is excellent, and it’s evident that Blix is laser-focused on building high-quality and sturdy bikes that will last for years.
Blix Bike Ride and Daily Use
In our Blix Bike review, we’ve found that the bikes all ride very well. The ride comfort is smooth, and the bike seats are comfy yet firm. The Blix bikes all handle great too, but be aware that you can feel that these are not light racing bikes when doing sharp cornering. However, this is the case with all electric bikes. Blix Bikes are pretty average in weight compared to other brands, and even with extra electric holiday weight, it’s possible to carry them at short distances when needed. If you often need to pick up your electric bike, go for the foldable and much lighter Vika+ Flex.

The weight of the Blix Bikes does have an impact if you, for whatever reasons, need to carry it along your daily commute. It’s fine to carry it up a few stairs but more than that might be a strain if you’re not used to lifting heavier objects. Again, this is likely not going to be an issue but it’s worthwhile noting. If you often need to pick up your electric bike, go for the foldable and much lighter Vika+ Flex.
While it takes some getting used to, you’ll quickly pick it up and the bikes are easy to handle even for inexperienced users of electric bikes. Do note that the Packa Genie is a bit longer and heavier and thus has to be ridden a little more carefully. But even the Packa Genie can be driven by anyone.
The other slight drawback is the average battery power. The range will be more than sufficient for shorter commutes and your daily rides. But if you plan to use this as your primary everyday mode of transport or use it for longer trips, we highly encourage you to consider the Packa Genie and get the optional second battery (at $200).
Blix Bike Features
The bikes from Blix are stuffed with useful and cool features. From the integrated display with a USB charging port for your phone to the built-in front and backlights, the bikes are packed with both need and nice-to-have features and add-ons. Blix additionally offers a vast range of accessories that you can use to kit out your bike, from child seats to carriers, greatly expanding the usefulness of the bikes.
Do note that if you want to add all available accessories, it’ll add up. So get what you truly need first, and add on as you discover additional needs.

Blix Bike Prices
The electric bicycle space is very competitive, and many brands are competing for consumers’ interest. In addition, as we have noted, the quality of electric bikes varies wildly, and so do prices.
As with most things, you get what you pay for. You will be able to find cheaper bikes than Blix Bike, but you would also be seriously compromising on quality.
Blix Bike bicycles range from $1699 for the excellent Sol Eclipse (currently on sale for $1599) to $1999 for the versatile carrier Packa Genie.
In our review of Blix Bike, we find that their prices are very reasonable considering the quality and features of the bikes and how well they ride. While you can find cheaper bikes, we recommend you don’t buy a discount electric bike since it won’t last and may end up costing you more in the long run. However, we think Blix Bike strikes a perfect balance, and their price-to-quality ratio is unquestionably one of the best on the market.

Blix Bike Bicycle Lineup
Blix Bike currently manufactures and sells four different bike designs, each uniquely created for a specific purpose and use case. Below we have reviewed and rated each of their bikes individually. Each bike serves a particular purpose, and while they are each great picks in their own right, it’s critical that you consider your needs and how the bike will fit into your everyday life. For the commuter and traveler – or anyone who transports their bike
The Blix Bike Vika+ Flex folding electric bike is the next iteration of the popular Vika. The new version introduced larger tires, ensuring better handling and a smoother ride. The ride on the Vika was not bad at all, but with the Vika+ it’s almost on par with full-sized commuter bicycles. Pretty impressive. That said, if you rarely need to carry your bike and you plan to bike long distances, you may still want to consider a full-sized bike (for example, the Blix Bike Aveny Skyline commuter bike reviewed below).
The Blix Vika+ flex folds easily and, in its folded state, is highly compact. It’s light enough to be carried easily, but don’t expect to do a marathon with it (folded up, at least).
The bike is a perfect choice if you need a bike and the flexibility to pair it with other forms of transportation. This could be a daily commute on the bus or train or when traveling and you want to bring along a bike. The Blix Bike Vika+ Flex lives up to its name and is the ultimate flexible bike option.
Blix Bike Vika+ Flex Folding e-Bike

Blix Bike Vika+ Flex folding e-bike is an excellent choice for any commuter who needs to be able to bring their bike along on public transport, carry it along the route, fold it into a trunk, or just need the flexibility of easily bringing their bike anywhere. The Blix Vika+ Flex is of premium quality, has an improved and very sturdy and smooth ride, and is a perfect solution when you need to bring your bike along and that extra flexibility.
Pros
Great build quality
Excellent and improved ride
It folds easily and compact
Light and easy to carry
Competitive price for the quality
Cons
For long rides, it can be less comfortable
Not as quick and maneuverable as a full-sized bicycle.
For longer rides, more comfort and speed (and daily trips around town)
The Blix Bike Aveny Skyline represents the perfect balance between comfort and speed, looks and practicality, everyday use, and longer rides.
First, it looks fantastic. Available in several attractive colors that will suit anyone (we love the baby blue one, but they’re all great), it’s sure to stand out and attract positive attention.
If you’re not planning on lugging your bike around and don’t need the flexibility of a folding bike, a commuter bike is the right choice. With improved maneuverability, speed, and comfort, the Aveny Skyline is the classic bike interpreted by Blix Bike into a superior electric version.
You’ll get an extra kick when climbing hills while still being able to move at a leisurely pace when you want. And when you are running late, the Aveny Skyline will get you there faster with its extra oomph. The battery is sufficient for most use cases, but if you’re planning a longer trip, you may have to rely on the power of the pedals only for the last stretch. That said, it’s probably unlikely you’ll ever find yourself in that situation (consider a racing bike for those very long bike rides instead).
The Aveny Skyline perfectly mixes looks, utility, speed, and comfort and is a perfect choice whether you’re commuting, going on a longer trek, or just getting around town.
Blix Bike Aveny Skyline Commuter e-Bike

Blix Bike Aveny Skyline e-bike is an excellent option for communicating and just getting around town or taking longer trips. It’s incredibly comfortable, and the ride is smooth. It’s perfect for both slower strolls and when you need to go faster, and the easy and safe maneuverability of the bike makes it great for both. In addition, with an excellent ride position and fitting seat, you can sit comfortably on the bike all day (if you are so inclined). The Blix Bike Aveny Skyline is the perfect all-purpose electric bike. And it looks great too!
Pros
Great build quality
Excellent and smooth ride
Fast when you need it
Beautiful and attractive design
Affordable price for the quality
Cons
The range could be longer
Not as practical as the Vika+ Flex
For cruising while looking cool on your awesome bike
Cruiser bikes are extremely popular, and it’s no surprise. Whether you’re coasting along a California beach or roaming around town, the cruiser bikes exude coolness and chill in a way no other bikes do. You’re not racing somewhere or late for work. You’re just enjoying yourself and life.
The Blix Bike Sol Eclipse electric cruiser managed to make the cruiser electric while staying cool. With its low ride, understated but still characteristic design, it’s not only desirable to look at, but it’s also a really good bike too. So if you want to blend smooth cruising with the power of electricity when you realize that you are actually late for something, the Sol Eclipse is the electric cruiser bike for you.
The ride position is relaxed and comfortable for riding around town or along the beach. Still, if you plan to travel miles on end, you probably want to consider a commuter bike like the Aveny Skyline above. On the other hand, don’t plan on carrying this one too far, either. It’s OK to take it up a few flights of stairs, but it would not be suitable if your trip includes longer paces without the wheel touching the ground.
But, for anyone who prioritized design and cool looks, a low-riding relaxed mode of transport, with the added power of electricity when you absolutely need it, the Blix Bike Sol Eclipse Cruiser e-bike is the choice for you. We can’t get over the stunning looks.
Blix Bike Sol Eclipse Cruiser e-Bike

Even the name sounds cool! The Sol Eclipse cruiser from Blix Bike makes electric biking look cool and chill. If looks matter more than speed, and you’re not planning on competing in the Tour de France, then the Blix Bike Sol Eclipse Cruiser e-bike is the bike for you. You’ll be hard-pressed to find any other electric bike with more stunning looks. Perfect for cruising the beach or roaming around town.
Pros
Great build quality
Excellent and smooth ride
Fast when you need it
Beautiful and attractive design
Affordable price for the quality
Cons
The range could be longer
Not as practical as the Vika+ Flex
For the child or cargo-ferrying person needing a versatile electric bike
If practical and versatile are on top of your list, and if you need to move babies or boxes around, this is the perfect mode of transport for you. Forget about impossible and expensive parking, being stuck in traffic inside a gas-guzzling van or truck. If you need to get somewhere fast and conveniently but bring along goods or a future heir, the Blix Bike Packa Genie will give you all that. At a fraction of the cost but with bonus exercise built-in. Why sit on your Peloton in the dark when you can be outside, exercise, and run errands at the same time!
The options with the Packa Genie are almost endless (see image below). The modular accessory design makes it one of the most versatile electric bikes on the market. It’s a perfect choice if you are taking your kids to school, picking up groceries, or transporting goods around. It’s incredibly sturdy and can easily be loaded to move whatever your errand of the day is. It works great for longer trips, too, allowing you to bring the little ones or enough provisions for camping out for days (sort of).
It’s not a light bike, though. And this does impact handling slightly. So make sure that you get a few practice rounds before strapping in your little one. But it’s easy to master, and you’ll soon be able to skirt around town easily. Just don’t expect to corner as sharply as with a classic bike when loaded to the 200lb limit. It’s also a little longer than you might expect.
The range is pretty decent too. However, if you take numerous trips around town, loaded to the brim, we suggest you opt for the $200 extra battery as the single one eventually will run out of juice. Hopefully, that’ll be on the way home but get the extra battery if you need it throughout the day.
Blix Bike Packa Genie e-Bike

Practicality and versatility perfectly describe the Blix Bike Packa Genie. This is the ideal electric bike for you, from taking the kids to school to delivering products and goods around the town without worrying about traffic or parking. It’s comfortable even for all-day deliveries or an extended family trek, but make sure to include the extra battery. The build quality is excellent, and the bike is very sturdy. It does take a little practice to master the longer and heavier bike, but everyone can learn it quickly.
Pros
Great build quality
Excellent and smooth ride
Fast when you need it
Beautiful and attractive design
Affordable price for the quality
Cons
The range could be longer
Not as practical as the Vika+ Flex
